Adding Two-Factor Authentication to Your Account

Enabling two-factor authentication in user preferences adds an extra layer of security to your account log in by requiring you to enter a key generated from a TOTP service like Google authenticator in addition to your email and password.

To enable Two-Factor authentication:

  1. Select User Preferences from the email address drop down in the upper right corner of your account.
  2. Select Enable two-factor authentication.
  3. Copy the Two Factor Key and enter it into the TOTP service you are using. If you are using Google Authenticator you can also scan the barcode key with your phone to enter your code.
  4. Enter the External Authenticator Code you receive from your service. If you are using Google Authenticator do not include the space in the code.
  5. Click Save Changes.

You will now have to enter a valid authenticator code every time you log in to FluidSurveys. Authenticator codes are time-based and change. Login to your authenticator to receive a valid code.

To disable two-factor authentication, deselect the option in user preferences.
