Requiring Respondents to Complete Authentication or CAPTCHA Verification to Take Surveys

Use security settings to require a respondent to log in or complete CAPTCHA verification to view or take your surveys.

Password Protecting Your Survey

To password protect your survey:

  1. Click the settings icon settings icon
  2. Click Access Restriction.
  3. Select Password Protect this survey.
  4. Enter a password and click Save password. The password you set will need to be distributed to all respondents.

Requiring CAPTCHA Verification

Requiring CAPTCHA verification will prompt all respondents to complete a challenge response test to prove that they are human to take or complete your survey.

To require CAPTCHA verification:

  1. Click the settings icon settings icon
  2. Click Access Restriction.
  3. From the CAPTCHA verification dropdown, select whether you want respondents to have to complete CAPTCHA verification at the beginning of the survey or at the end of the survey.
  4. To preview your changes, paste a deploy link into an incognito or private mode window.

Requiring Respondents to Authenticate via Facebook, Twitter, or Custom OAuth

  1. Click the settings icon settings icon
  2. Click Access Restriction.
  3. Select Use external authentication.
  4. Select an external authentication service from the Auth Type dropdown. If you’re setting up custom OAuth, you’ll be prompted to enter your Oauth Endpoint URI and Client Secret.
  5. Select the page of the survey you want respondents to authenticate on. To require it before the beginning of the survey, select page 1.
  6. Click Save this section.
