Editing or Deleting Responses

Once you have collected responses to a survey you can:

  • Edit a response to change the answers to questions.
  • Change the status of a response. For example from Complete to Incomplete.
  • Change the collector the response belongs to.
  • Delete responses or recover responses deleted in the last thirty days.

You can also import or export responses and change which information displays in the response table.

Editing the Answers in a Response

Editing a response allows you to open up the survey and change any and all answers. To edit a response:

  1. Click the responses icon response icon in the sidebar of your survey.
  2. Select the response you want to edit. You can only edit one response at a time.
  3. Select Edit selected response from the Actions drop down.
  4. Work your way through the survey, changing responses as needed. Responses will be changed once you submit the survey.

Changing the Status of a Response

Responses can have the following statuses:

  • Complete: The survey respondent reached the finished page of the survey.
  • Incomplete: The survey has been started, but not submitted or terminated.
  • Terminated: The survey respondent reached the termination page of the survey.
  • Quota Reached: The survey respondent reached the quota reached page.

To change the status of responses:

  1. Click the responses icon response icon in the sidebar of your survey.
  2. Select the responses you want to change the status of.
  3. Select Change selected responses from the Actions drop down.
  4. Select the status you want to apply from the Change the status of the selected responses to drop down.

Changing the Collector a Response Belongs To

You can move a response from one collector to another. To change the collector a response belongs to:

  1. Click the responses icon response icon in the sidebar of your survey.
  2. Select the responses you want to change the status of.
  3. Select Change selected responses from the Actions drop down
  4. Select the collector you want to add the response to from the Change the collector of the selected responses drop down.

Deleting Responses

You can delete individual selected responses, test responses, imported responses, or all responses to a survey. Deleted responses will be kept for thirty days. You can see a list of deleted responses by clicking the Deleted button in the bottom right corner of the responses page.

To delete responses:

  1. Click the responses icon response icon in the sidebar of your survey.
  2. If you are deleting individual responses, select them. If you are deleting test, imported, or all responses you don’t need to select any responses from the table.
  3. Select the delete option you wish to use from the Actions menu.
  4. Confirm the deletion.

To recover deleted responses:

  1. Click the responses icon response icon in the sidebar of your survey.
  2. Click the Deleted button in the bottom right corner of the page.
  3. Select the responses you want to recover and select Recover selected responses from the actions menu. If you want to restore all responses, select that option from the Actions menu.
